Don’t Take Life for Granted
Going through this end-of-life process with my dad has really gotten me thinking about the kind of life I want to live. My dad has stage 4 cancer throughout his body. The past couple of weeks has been especially challenging since he lost the ability to swallow. The doctors were afraid to put a feeding tube in because of his oxygen levels. Feeding the tube through his nose would block some of the oxygen, and putting him out to do the direct tube they were afraid they wouldn’t be able to wake him up.
It was a week before they decided it was safe enough for him to get the direct tube. A week that he didn’t eat.
Some of the other challenges that he is having is hearing anything and speaking. So even having a conversation with him is a challenge. Luckily, we had done all the conversations before, but it really has me thinking – what life am I living?
That’s a question that we all have to ask ourselves at some point. And it’s not an easy question to answer. But it’s an important question to ask. Because the kind of life you live is up to you.
You can choose to live a life that is full of love, laughter, and adventure. You can choose to travel the world and experience all that it has to offer. You can choose to meet new people and learn about different cultures. You can choose to make a difference in the world and help others. You can choose to live a life that is meaningful and fulfilling.
Or you can choose to live a life that is full of fear, regret, and missed opportunities. You can choose to stay in your comfort zone and never take any risks. You can choose to surround yourself with negative people and never let yourself dream big. You can choose to live a life that is meaningless and empty.
The choice is yours.
But I want to encourage you to choose the first option. I want to encourage you to live a life that is full of love, laughter, and adventure. I want to encourage you to travel the world and experience all that it has to offer. I want to encourage you to meet new people and learn about different cultures. I want to encourage you to make a difference in the world and help others. I want to encourage you to live a life that is meaningful and fulfilling.
Because that’s the kind of life that you deserve.
You deserve to be happy. You deserve to be loved. You deserve to make a difference in the world. You deserve to live a life that is full of love, laughter, and adventure.
So go out there and live your best life! The world is waiting for you.
But what does it mean to live your best life?
It means different things to different people. But for me, it means living a life that is true to myself. It means living a life that is full of creativity and empowerment. It means living a life that is full of love, laughter, and adventure. It means creating a world where everyone is free to live with whomever, wherever they choose without fear or lack.
It also means taking risks. It means stepping outside of your comfort zone. It means trying new things. It means failing sometimes and learning from your mistakes.
But most importantly, it means never giving up on your dreams. It means always believing in yourself. It means always striving to be the best version of yourself that you can be.
So if you’re not living the life you want to live, now is the time to change that. Now is the time to start living your best life.
The world is waiting for you.
Go out there and take it by storm!
